I stumbled upon this interesting website a bit ago & thought I’d share: WeFeelFine.org. Self Described as an exploration in human emotion on a global scale, this web app essentially crawls the social web searching for emotion based statements. They are all pulled out & compiled in a nifty little interactive interface. I’ve taken screenshots of a few statements that I loved, but there were zillions more to look through. You should check it out.

I took photos! Lots. I had some technical difficulties in the form of dead batteries and at one point had to resort to iphone snaps– But I feel the need to release these to the vast great internet anyway, because it’s amazing what people are making and doing.

As you can see, pacman prefers the escalator. This guy on the left had the best costume hands down. not quite sure how he walked around in this all day, but mighty impressive, nonetheless.

The vendor market was full of graphic novels, kawaii / cute imported trinkets and plushies and a wig to match every cosplay kitten outfit you have stashed in your secret closet.

Folks in full garb were really nice and always willing to stop and strike a pose for a photo op.

A ninja does some casual window shopping. I think the dichotomy between costumed characters and folks in regular street clothes is super interesting.

Anime royalty. Lots of princesses walking around, this particular group had such amazing attention to detail with their costumes. The props were so well done!

If you’re in need of a last minute pie recipe for your Thanksgiving festivities tomorrow, I can vouch for the tastiness of this recipe: Cranberry Apple Crumble Pie. (I cheated & used store bought pie crust – but it was still a crowdpleaser.)  :-)

Also, I didn’t take photos but, I visited the open studios event at the Salmon Falls mill in Rollinsford, NH. I covet the artist spaces in these buildings – large windows, paint splatter floors – it reminds me of art school. There were many talented artists exhibiting this weekend & the building holds open studio events twice a year, more info at their website: millartists.com

I took a quick, last minute trip with my sister to New Orleans last week. The trip was rushed & we missed a connector flight out of D.C (which was what I would call.. a character building experience). Although I wasn’t there long & only really experienced a bit of the French Quarter – I was able to snap off a fair amount of photos.

After seeing Bourbon Street (where most of the Mardi Gras celebration centers around) on a Monday night, I can confirm that you could visit this area at any time of year & on any day of the week and still get your fill of the party atmosphere.

This set is a quick watercolor study inspired by a photo I snapped on Bourbon St during the day. The first photo was taken early evening (8pm-ish?) on Bourbon St.

A few photos from a day trip to the North Conway NH area. The leaves were just starting to turn at the beginning of October when we were visiting. The photos are from a little walking trail that leads up to a place called Diana’s Bath. It was a nice area with small waterfalls and lots of little wading pools tucked in between the rocks.
