Humanizing The Web

I stumbled upon this interesting website a bit ago & thought I’d share: WeFeelFine.org. Self Described as an exploration in human emotion on a global scale, this web app essentially crawls the social web searching for emotion based statements. They are all pulled out & compiled in a nifty little interactive interface. I’ve taken screenshots of a few statements that I loved, but there were zillions more to look through. You should check it out.

Helter Swelter
Heat wave, anyone? Yeah, feels like we are knee deep into summer.
I’ve amassed a small collection of photos from the first half of summer, see below for a few highlights.
This insanely brilliant sunset was snapped on the way to the White Mountains for a last minute camping trip.

A colorful beach umbrella.
You can swim here, but absolutely no shark fishing. This unsettling piece of signage was snapped on Tybee Island, while on a June trip to Savannah, Georgia.
Some small details noticed while traipsing through the woods.
And of course, fireworks set off in Dover, NH. Fireworks are the hardest phenomenon to capture on camera.
Happy Easter and Three Minutes Of Intense Beauty
Caught this on Yahoo front page last week, it’s just so mind blowingly beautiful, I wanted to pass it along. The footage was taken from the highest mountain in Spain during the course of a week this April. Click through the links to read more about the artist & the video details.

Exit Through The Gift Shop
Have you seen this film? Exit Through The Gift Shop, a documentary produced by British stencil artist Banksy. I just watched it via Netflix recently and if you are interested in art at all, I’d recommend seeing it. Some nice clips of a few well known street artists getting up, some interesting ideas on the state of the art market, artist notoriety & the “hype machine”.

Teal – Photo Inspiration

Teal: cold winters, dated bathroom tiles, crystal clear ocean water, the sky at that perfect moment during dusk, classic cars & diners, high school gym lockers, butterfly wings. Often referred to as aqua, turquoise or peacock. Wikipedia says:“Teal is a medium blue-green color. It is named after the common teal, a member of the duck family, whose eyes are surrounded by the color.”
More teal inspiration photos (& photo credits) after the jump.
