14 Days Of Love Illustrated.

Blogging regularly has been more of a challenge than I originally anticipated. I’m sure it’s just because it’s not a habit yet. So, I’m starting a mini project. 1 graphic a day for fourteen days – ending on Valentine’s Day. Themes to revolve around.. Love & Happiness (surprising, I know). Ideally I’d like to cover common phrases & symbols that are often associated with love and V-day.
The project will include artwork of all kinds. Digital, photo, drawings. I have a list of thoughts, but I’ve only started 1 or 2 illustrations, so this will be an on the fly, crunch time, completely made up as I go along, improvised art project. I’m hoping this doesn’t turn into the sappiest two weeks of blog posts ever. But I’m definitely not making any guarantees.
I thought that I might call this the graphic love project, but the general consensus is that a title like that sounds far more.. adult than what’s actually going on. So… The ArtLove Project. (this is day 1, btw)
Happy February. :-)
Beauty in Acrylic Paint Palettes
I’ve been saving palettes from painting projects over the years. I’m going to make something with them eventually. Maybe a collage. They’re sort of like mini pieces of art on their own anyway.
Tentative Voodoo – Artwork in Progress

I’ve been working on this piece for a while now (tentatively titled Voodoo. It’s watercolor on paper). I’ve taken a zillion reference photos and made a bunch of different versions. It’s been hanging on my wall for weeks and I’ve just been waiting for a feeling about where to go from here.
The original theme was based on the concept of charisma – how some people almost exude a captivating magnetic force. Wow factor, confidence, social acumen, whatever you want to call it – bottom line is that not everyone has it, but most have probably met someone who does.
Anyway, this project had totally stalled out, but I was tooling around in Adobe Illustrator last night with a Wacom tablet and below is the result. This isn’t finished either, but I’m already leaps & bounds more satisfied with where it’s going.
